Biographical Sketch
Dr. Yuping Chen received her Ph.D. degree in optics from Department of Physics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2002. From 2005 to 2006, she was a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. R.W. Boyd’s group at Institute of Optics, University of Rochester. She is currently an Associate Professor with Department of Physics and Astronomy, and the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication System and Networks in SJTU. She is the winner of “Cheng Xing” Excellent Young Scholars Award -A Program of SJTU in 2012, and was honored with Excellent Young Teacher’s Scientific Research Program (2008) by Shanghai Government. Currently, She serves as a vice director of Shanghai laser committee of COS in China. She also serves NSFC as a proposal reviewer. She was invited to present more than 10 invited talks in the international conferences or conferences organized by COS in the past 5 years. She has published over 60 papers in refereed journals and conferences, and the number of SCI citation is about 500 and H-index is 13. Her current research interests include quasi-phase-matching nonlinear optics and its applications, including investigation of quasi-phase-matching nonlinear optics and its applications in designing and demonstrating some key photonic devices needed in all-optical signal processing; Other research interests are focused in slow and fast light technique and applications and study of femto-second laser pulse ablation on metal film or other organic materials.
